Easy way to tell if its the turbo guys is just take off the downpipe and look around the exhaust housing and turbine wheel to see for oil residual. This is pretty common on used turbos. Oil leaking out of the exhaust seal and burning up. If the return is not straight, not big enough, or in the wrong spot on the pan it will build up oil into the center section and leak out.

Oh, and that Nosmoke ---- from the local autoparts store actually works pretty decent. I used some for awhile when I had a bum seal on my t3/t4.

Put the restrictor in, dialed it halfway closed, still smoking. Bought some smoke away from the auto parts store and put that in, still smoking. It's bad. If I let it idle and then go under the hood and kick the throttle after I let go it just starts spewing smoke. I don't know wtf is the problem. It doesn't smoke when i'm on the throttle but if I am cruising on the highway the car starts to cut out as if I am burning smoke like crazy I dont know what to do, I was supposed to drive home for Thanksgiving break today but I guess I cant? I may drive it and just let the turbo blow or something, i am sick of this. So I guess the turbo is bad then? Is that the consensus? This sucks.

Just close the restrictor a little more. haha. If the turbo is that bad, than the only thing you can do is hope to give it just a little bit of oil and not enough to smoke.

My first T3 smoked bad when I started the car and then went away. You have a bad turbo.

Put a couple screens in the charge pipes and turn the oil down. The screens are for when the turbo comes apart your motor won't ingest anything.

when my car was burning oil i thought it was my turbo. but that didnt sound right cause it was brand new. and i didnt htink it was my motor either, cause that was brand new rebiuld too. turns out it was the motor. i was driving on a basemap and there was so much fuel it washed out the rings, plus the ignition maps were so off that it was detonating really bad. the detonation cause the rings to scuff the cylinder walls and ---- and cause some blow by and some how oil got in the IM, but the throttle body was dry so it wasnt the turbo. turns out it was the motor, took it apart and it was all fucked up. but if your saying theres oil in the charge piping its def your turbo

Yeah, its the turbo, I turned the oil down more and now it doesn't cut out on the highway, yet anyways. Still smokes at idle when kicked over. Stealth you really think I should toss some screens in the charge piping? Well if it comes apart tonight there is going to be a very sad post in GD tommorow.

i'd sell the turbo on ebay after it's been cleaned up first though. put as is in the ad. look for a turbo at a junkyard with the money you get for the fucked up turbo on ebay.
