ihi turbos are small as ---- and i would never use one in my opinion!!! the smallest i would go on any d-series would be the t25 from the 2nd gen eclipse. that one should be ok to pull you to redline. actually, i lied, just ------- get a 1st gen eclipse turbo, tdo5-14b. those are bigger and would be perfect for your motor!! either that one or the t3 42/48 which i have and is great!!!! pulls hard all the way up

I'm going with a 2nd Gen DSM T25 on my Y8, mainly for canyon racing, i'm not sure i'll have as much on the top end as i'd like to, but i'll sacrifice for a bit quicker spool and a decently efecient upper range

From what I understand, the IHI turbo's effective range is @ 2200- 5500 rpm (just look at the engine range of the car it comes in and the redline -- stock ford stuff). I personally run a .42/.48 T3 and I hit full boost at @ 3600 rpm and pulls until rev limiter kicks in....12-13psi easily gives you highway top end IMHO!!! Now I digress, as most people now know that the IHI is a good street car turbo, and the T3 and bigger for drag and highway racing.....
