pretty sure it is something with the heater core... whether it is clogged or letting air in somewhere... if i keep the temp on the climate control all the way in the blue.... it never overheats.. only if i slide it over.... flush it or just use the core from my 97 civic parts car?

I still think you need a tstat. Check for leaks of the heater core, if you find none then thats not your problem. Not saying the core isnt clogged, just saying if its not leaking it cant cause your car to overheat. |

you could also jump the thermoswitch wires to make the fan come on when ignition is on. this is only a band-aid though, still need to check tstat

Are you running ARP head studs or factory bolts? My friend had a same problem due to his stock head bolts gettin stretched. It also might be the headgasket as stated before.
