i am running the map that was on this engine before... only thing different with the setup is the vitara pistons and eagle rods... im using the same head that i had on the car before... |
Re: d16 overheating.... i searched
Well your car has a lower compression ratio now. It's stupid to think that the same map will run your new engine the same way.

Re: d16 overheating.... i searched
its pig rich... why would that would make it run hotter.... its completely fine until after like 30-40 minutes then the idle jumps up and the overheating begins
if it was in the tune.. i would think it would begin overheating right away |
Re: d16 overheating.... i searched
since you still havent seemed to figure it out yet, im pretty sure you had the same problem i had. try flushing the ---- outta your heater core. you know how much ---- gets stuck in that bitch when the car sits for a long period of time? i had the same problems your facing and i replaced every ------- hose on my cooling system as every single guage and sensor, even the water pump,t-stat, and rad i changed. still the problem occured. then i had the bright idea to unhook my heater core and just loop around it not even using it, problem solved. eventually though i replaced it and had no issues since. now take it this happened to me in the middle of winter, so if i were you id take care of this now. start with what i said and loop around the heater core. and check the ------- hoses for cracks. the slightest crack that lets in any amount of air will cause the system to go el' fucko' on you. give it a try and report back reggin.

Re: d16 overheating.... i searched
I should have made myself more clear. When honda tstats stick they generally stick OPEN or partially. Hince why you are getting 2 warm hoses, and still overheating. Also, how old is your water pump?

Re: d16 overheating.... i searched

Re: d16 overheating.... i searched

Re: d16 overheating.... i searched
Pull out the thermostat. Put it back together and make sure the rad isn't plugged...
You can always build a new motor if you would like!! |
