Default d15b with vitara pistons.

about what compression would a jdm d15b vtec come out to with the suzuki vitara pistons.its not boosted yet and it has been puffing some smoke so i figure if i rebuild i might as well put pistons in it.

Make sure the wrist pin location on the d15b rods will work with vitara pistons.

The Vitaras fit just fine on the jdm d15b rods, im running them right now. From what ive read the estimated compression is just below 9:1

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Vitara's sit pretty far down the bore on D16, with the D15's shorter deck height I was wondering if you could slip a D16 rod in there and have everything come out all happy.

All the TOO lovers on the Endyn forum would approve of your RS ratio, T-RO.

As far as using a D16 rod in the JDM D15b there is alot of discussion. Recently i believe the consensus is that yes they are the same. I personally dont know cause i used the stock d15b rods. I should have measured them when i had them out.

the D15B rods are same as D16 rods, but with the 5mm shorter deck height, the pin location is different. No one knows exactly what to use yet.......

yeah that -12cc dome of the vitraras really help out. If they do stick out, it's only 0.072 of an inch.

Curious if you've a side by side comparison... i did a quick check before assembly by putting the stock z6 piston next to the vitara piston and using the pin/bushing to hold them at the exact same level... the difference was barely noticable.

And to the people that comment about how the combustion process happends in the cylinder because of the piston... i found a nice dark black ring in my cylinders from the stock pistons... i'd expect the exact same thing to happen with the Vitaras.
