depends on how much boost you wanna run/how fast you want it to spool up; which generally depends on the displacement of the engine. What size in liters is the tacomas engine and what's its redline?

They don't make a 1991 Tacoma. It's just a pickup with a 22RE 2366cc 2.4liter 4 cylinder.

With the larger displacement I would look into a nice .60/.63 T3. Your engine managment will be the tricky part. SDS(simple digital systems)has a stand alone system for it. It's a bit pricey though.

i too am in the process of turbocharing a tacoma (1999 with the 2.7 4 cyl)

i am going with a hybrid t3/t4 turbo .50/.63, greddy e-manage for the ecu, custom ic piping, and a cheap cast iron log style turbo manifold.

this turbo might be a tad bit big for your engine and you may decide to go with a .5something rather than .63 others have ran this exact turbo on the 2.7 and it spools quite nicely and doesnt loose steam up top. im looking for no more than 300rwhp.
