Default Custom radiator support for EG radiator n EF

The EG radiator is too tall to fit on the stock rad. support so I tried to hammer the stock support to a lower posision, but it turned to jello and ended up being cut off...

That left me with 2 choices... #1 spend $XXX on another stock rad. support OR #2 build my own...

I spent around $5.50 on steel ( 1/8in X 2in mild steel ).

I used the stock "tow-hook" bolts to secure the support. Since the rad. is a little taller, I angled it like a new camaro or 300zx.. Since I was already builting a support, I figured I may as well build something to hold the IC too..

So.... Is it "HMT style" or what !!??

looks nice and ghetto. Matches the whitey bends very nicely. I'm glad somebody else is keeping it real...

The piping is actully home depot performance's custom "2'' electric conduit".

I have a acess to a bad *** miller welder at work that has an aluminum mig spool gun. the conduit was welded on with it by turning the wire speed up and using 100% argon. It held plenty strong but it had a few pin holes, so I put some red silicone on it where the alum. weld is.

All the welds that are already painted were my first welding experence ( 85amp flux core 110v c.H. POS welder ). The other welds that are grinded and painted yet were done with my new 130amp 220v mig welder with flux core wire. I have everything for gas, but the regulator ( which was ordered about 4-5 days ago ).

If I could do it again... I'd spend the $$$ on at least 2 really good couplers and I would have welded a peice of alum. piping to the IC, but after its done, its a little late ( but at least it works )

The perfection of the bends you can make with cutting/welding angles is great.

Next is a SR20 powered 240sx...

That is true of my civic !!! My stealth TT is another story. The civic is a car I bought for $1200 and couldn't resist the insanely cheap aftermarket for it, but then I got so far that I could no longer buy cheap parts, and I can't bring myself to pay $$$ for civic parts...

Stealth $$$ = about $5K aftermarket parts
Civic $$$ = $2000 in parts ( interoir, rims, turbo stuff, engine )and $1200 for the car... $3200 with a 14.6 time slip...

I like to build crap for my civic vs buying it... How else can you learn to fabricate stuff at 2am !! Hehe.

I have come a little way !!! I ditched the PVC IC piping !!
