Default Cracked Sleeve, Need Opinions and Help~

Alright well after going to the shop this afternoon one of the sleeves is cracked. I dont know what im going to do. Im still waiting to hear if the pistons and rods are ok. Basically i can either send the block off and have it resleeved and everything installed again which is gonna cost alot. Or buy a stock bottom end and throw in the pistons and rods from the current cracked motor and just deal with stock sleeves. Or i could see how much a swap would cost but it just seems like there too much invested for me to go a diff motor route.

For the record, i just bought this ------- del sol less then 2 weeks ago. I drove it twice and on the second day i had to have it towed to a shop. It was on 5psi of boost. Obiovusly the guy who sold me the car was a ------- liar and drove it too ---- before he sold it to me. Heres a mod list of what it has, the new fuel management is on the list but not installed yet. I bought it right after i bought the sol but not sure on what im going to do yet.

Also, would it be possible to just have 1 cylinder re-sleeved? Only one is cracked but i dunno.

Heres a copy of my mod list thus far, even though the fuel mangement isnt installed yet.

im hoping i can just replace one sleeve but ummmm yea its defonately gonna be more then $25 bucks...to get all 4 done with some other stuff was like 800 bucks....

im just wondering if you can just have 1 sleeve done, wasnt sure if it was possible. If this is the case then im just gonna have the one cylinder re-sleeved and put the pistons/rods back in and get back to boosting.

i believe the sleeve kit alone was like $500 and then labor cost and all that good stuff

first of all, if you going to just try and replace one sleeve, or even replace them all with stock sleeves, you would be better off just buying a different short block. as far as 800 bucks to have it sleeved, that's a whole nother story, you're talking about golden eagle or dart sleeves which would be able to handle all the boost you could throw at them, if you can afford it, definitely do this. oh yeah, you're stupid for buying a car that already turbo'd, of course the guy ran it to ----.

yeah definatly man i emailed golden eagle about sleeving my d16 block and he quoted me 800 dollars. maybe not exactly that but it was in the 800 dollar range and thats like complete with labor in all. and they have a lifetime warrenty against cracking so u dont have to worry about having to pay for it if it cracks. i think u should hit up golden eagle and see what they have to say

i agree. with a mod list like that Im sure you paid a pretty penny on the car... I'd get it sleeved properly.

i think the clear corners are what caused it to crack, be sure to replace them with the stock corners after the engine work to ensure you don't blow the engine again.
