Cost of turbo setups

Yeah, I have noticed that on the for sale forums people ask like anywhere from 500-1000s of dollars for turbo setups.. however if a person were to buy the parts seperate off of ebay (i know its kinda generic) but it would cost alot less to put together a homemadeturbo setup. just my 2 cents.. i want some other opinions.

Re:Cost of turbo setups

Once you start trying to piece together a turbo kit the price isn't as cut and dry as you think. ---- adds up, ---- that you don't expect and thats why people sell kits for $1000. And also 99% of the turbo stuff on Ebay is complete ---- and would only last about 5 miles after install

To do a kit right, you need to spend at least $800 to piece it together.

Thats my 2cents

spent 2500$ with all good parts...didnt really skimp IMO atleast...coulda got hard hot/cold pipes and an FMIC...I am satisfied and it was money well spent(this is also for a honda accord)

Yeah, understandable. But most of the money comes into a big ass turbo that costs like 400 bucks. All i'm interested in is a safe 7psi probe turbo.. something that spools quickly. I'm really leaning toward going w/ Steve's 1989 Crx DX setup. cheaper that way

^^^ Just cause its a small turbo doesn't make it safe. With a bigger turbo you'll get more HP out of that 7psi. I built my newest kit for around $800 with a T3/T04E .60/.63 turbo

Re:Cost of turbo setups

haha...I have 110k on my engine and intend to run 10psi once I get my car tuned at 7-8. My friend had 250K on his 240sx and ran it under 10-15lbs for well over a year. 13.4 or better 1/4 mile times on a big trim t3/t4

My turbo was decent price 450$...I spent money evenly though
