Default Compressor surge AND BOV noise

Ran without a BOV for a spin to make sure the car was together. It is. It also surged like a bitch even without boosting.
Now with BOV in, at 0psi of boost when I let up on the throttle I get a little compressor surge and the sound of my china bov. never had both before. its this bov:

second one down, blue
no adjustment that I can see. I have a direct line into the IM tee'd off to the wastegate and this BOV... does it need its own line?

I've always just T'd my bov from my wg to im. Never had any problems.. It surges at random when sitting at a light or whatever.. Try running its own line, see if that fixes the problem?

damn ran its own line and still does it. light throttle = surge, more throttle = bov, but i can usually hear both at the same time

I agree with above comments, both Wastegate and BOV get their very own lines..always. Did you say you are running the wastegate off the instake manifold? As in passed the throttle plates? Is there not a pip on your turbo to use? if not I would consider drilling and tapping into the turbo at the output where is meets the i/c pipe. It allows the wastegate a "smarter" signal. Back to the BOV...I have heard this before with the tial knock offs, but 1st check your bov signal line off the intake manifold..make sure it is not blocked/dirty/shared and make sure that it picks up passed the after the throttle plates for sure, if all is fine there..then remove your bov and dissassemble to sure ensure there are no surprises.

The tial version offers 3-4 springs, depending on what Hg" you pull at idle. The SSauto crap may have heavy spring(s), meaning it will open/close (chatter) when the turbo's pressurizing the charge pipes to any extent while the vac port is pulling high vacuum. Its also common for bov's to slightly open at idle - my real Type-S opens at 23" Hg idle if the spring is set super loose or super tight.

My vote is to remove a spring if there's 2 in there, or loosen it up a lot if its adjustable.

yeah thats what i had to do on a friends bov to stop the surge, ---- was just too tight with both springs no matter how much we adjusted it
