This is on my '93 Miata.
I've been using a .48/.49 2G DSM T25 and have swapped to a .80/.64 SR20det T25.
I'd like to keep my 2G compressor housing so I don't have to mod my IC and Intake pipes.

Is it possible to port it out for an .80 trim wheel and who do you recommend for the job?

PS, I'd have searched, but it doesn't seem to be working for me, all I get is a blank screen.

 

get a fine count sanding drum for a dremel and your wheel, look at the wheel and port the housing until the wheel fits inside. viola!

Doing it myself is an option. In fact, I've got 2 housings so I can practice first.
I'd like to investigate at least sending it out to be done. I know there are several places online that do porting of various turbo-parts, just not one that specifically mentions porting the compressor for a different trim.

I think the tolerances probably need to be a little better than eye-balling it with my meager skills... so I'm gonna let a pro handle it if theres a shop out there that does this work.

Are the actual housings the same size? You can try it, but more than likely you're going to lose efficiency due to putting a larger wheel in a smaller housing. Statistics have shown over the years that it's not a wise thing to do. If you have some fab skills I would honestly change the piping and leave the turbo alone.

 

doing all of that work to use the small incorrect housing just to not have to change a 1/2 foot section of charge pipe doesn't make sense to me
