Re: compressor housing swap
He probably means the svo or xr4ti .63 housing/hotside.

Re: compressor housing swap
no, some of the volvo's (maybe its a saab?) have a .63 Its the one with the weird circular indent in the square flange. I had to weld it up and grind it flat.

Re: compressor housing swap
Sohcpwr what did you use to weld it just a wire feed or what? I have one with that same exh housing and was wonderign if I absolutly needed to fill that or not?
I got a plate from that has the same flange shape without the raise. Also mine is a a/r .48 on the exhaust side off of a 740 volvo. |
Re: compressor housing swap
I live in the Philippines and there's not much, if any, surplus Euro nor American parts here :P Looking for a surplus Volvo or Ford motor here would be finding a needle in a haystack... We have lots of Japanese parts though, hence the Nissan turbo I have now.
Anyways, there's some guy in the SkylinesAustralia forum who used his RB25DET turbo (same as what I use now) and put in JUST the T04b wheel in it. He machined the stock compressor housing to make the wheel fit, and bored the exhaust hole because he said it surged a lot - spools too early - 15psi @ 2,500rpms! :S I wonder what his compressor AR is after that "surgery"... I'm thinking of taking this route as well. What do you guys think? |
Re: compressor housing swap
I think you need to move to America (legally). :-*
