Default colder weather more boost??

Well my car pushes about 8-9 psi and the safc usually showed about 32 or so kpa. Well its been recently showing about 38-42 kpa of boost and maybe almost 10psi?? WTF would cause this?? The only thing i see thats different is the fact that its been really cold recently. Would the denser air allow the turbo to make more boost or what? Or could this be a wastegate going bad or something?? Thanks guys!

cold air= leaner due to more dense air. just make sure your air fuel ratio is ok.
