So I did some searching, and I see everyone has made it clear how to clock the cold side, but what about the hot side? I need to clock it so I can get my top mount mani ready, and I havent figured that out. I took off that metal fastening ring that connects the center to the exhaust side, but if I rotate it, it falls into a specific spot where it fits right, and if I have it sitting anywhere else the turbine rubs against that heat shield inside the housing. Is there a way to rotate the exhaust side to put a 14b on a top mount?

just run it upside down like me...seemed to work fine..just build the mani at a little tilt..kinda like the full-race top mount..and whalaaa...look at mine

So just flip the turbo upside down? Are the oil inlet/outlets the same then?

no but..i used the drain flange and had a fitting brazed into it for my oil return and found a fitting that fit the return hole for the drain...worked good

there is a locating pin on the exhaust side, similar to the one on the compresor side. If you grind it down/remove it, you can clock it properly. I would NOT suggest reversing oil flow to the turbo, since it just wouldnt work very well, or at all I would think since the bearings are pressure fed (like crank bearings)

iv ran mine for a while ..its seems to do just fine....you could always grind down the pi but their are chances you center section could move on its own ...id find a way to at least secur it after it is clocked...lots of guys run the turbo upside down...let gravity do its job

How do you like the 14b? i think i'm going to buy one, i sold my t3/t04 this weekend and want somthing that will spool quicker. I have a d15b7, the main thing I am wondering is how much boost does it make at about 6000 rpm?
