Charade gtti turbo

hey,
I want to turbocharge my 1987 (EDM) 1.6i 16v DOHC honda crx. I wanted to use a saab 900i turbo, but i can't find it anywhere but i know a nice turbo for sale from a daihatsu charade GTti. it's a 1liter 3cylinder engine, with a small turbo. though the wrecker said the turbo could easy deliver 2bar (28psi). I want to use it for 8 maybe 10 psi on my crx.
but is this a good turbo. I know it spools up very quickly so its ideal for the low rpm ranges of my car.
so guys....what do you think ?

another turbo that is available is an Mitsubishi turbo from a dodge shadow. its a bit bigger, maybe too big (haven't got much space ;D)

Without knowing the size we can't help much but I bet its pretty small. Keep in mind its not so much pressure as is it volume. You want volume.

28 psi from a stock turbo that comes from a 1.3L is gonna so inefficient and blowing more hot air than a damn holy roller.

yea oke, but as far as i know, 8psi of pressure is 8psi of pressure. If it can't keep up in the high rpm's the pressure will drop, so less volume. I understand that, but i think it will be able to maintain the 8psi-10psi of pressure to 7000rpm.

But what other turbo's are also good, and available (saab 900 turbo is hard to get here).

Btw, how do i know the size of the turbo (T25, T3 etc ?) ive seen 5 turbo's today, but non of them as it written on them.

That turbo is far too small, you should look into atleast a T3 .42 .48 and do some research!!

The turbo for that car was made for a 1 liter engine.
It has 101hp stock. Even if you double the boost it doesn't mean it doubles the power.
You better look for a Saab Turbo.
They're easier to find here in holland.
Even a turbo of a Volvo 850 is possible.
A customer of mine is using this on his dragbike and has 275 rearwheel HP.

Re:Charade gtti turbo

8 psi is not 8psi by any means......

a small ass turbo will flow minimal cfm and mostly ineficient boost.

a turbo such as my sc61 will flow a shitload of cfm and efficeint boost, it will make prob 100 more hp.

maybe this pic wuill help, you tell me which one u think will supply you with moe power, youll get the idea.

I had a T25 that ran 25 psi once for 5 minutes. (Doin 140Mph in Renault R5 Turbo)
After that it blew oil thru all the seals.
Boostgauge and WG actuator were on one line. had a small leak there.
