Yeah, this one was a bit extensive, I admit, but it works good.

Back to your amazingly mean looking setup now, I forgot to suggest one more thing: A sheet metal heat shield covering the hot spots and/or the meltable parts makes also a whole lot of difference and is cheaper. too. aluminum checker plate is my material of choice for that.

If you decide to make a heat shield you can do what we do. We have some Asbestos cloth and we sandwich it between 2 pieces of sheet metal. The effect is awesome.

AHAH!!! an asbestos sandwich does sound like a pretty good insulator but it's a banned product over here!! supposedly, it gives you cancer!!
the factory turbo wraps on the ford powerstrokes are made just like that. Lets ruin to the junkyard!

Yeah I bought a box full of Welding Gloves made from the stuff a while ago and have been cutting them up when I need it. :D But you can still order it or something similar, any sort of heat/flame resistant cloth should work.

I thermal wrap every ------- single hot piece in my engine bay, even did my hot side charge pipe since it runs to close to the rad and downpipe

Its only like $25 for a 50' roll of the thick good ---- on Ebay

damn that's cheap. At autoparts stores near me, they're like 50 bucks for less wrap I think.
