wouldnt worry about an FMU, as you want a 1:1 pressure ratio .

This is the regulator im using, as soon as I get all my pipework done:

Not too bad on price for a boost referenced reg, and is built like a tank.

As for carbs, Id recommend going a different route...Pick up a set of Weber side Draughts...make a custom manifold, and turbo those bad boys...

as far as prepping the carbs, your going to want to get a set of filled floats, or else your gonna have a set of taco's where the old ones where.

Search around the FI area...I forget the username, but one of the Guys here turbo'd a Chevy pickup with a four-barrel.

Used a stock air filter housing, welded it up tight, and routed the boost to the air horn. Some boost leak will occour, but hey, tis better than no boost.

Re:Carbed setup

yup.
but I think he upgraded the stock filter housing to a homemade planum.

Re:Carbed setup

For the 305 as well as the 267 i used an impco LPG carb hat that is used to hook up a LPG system to the carb. I used an Edelbrock 500 4 Bbl with solid floats and the choke removed entirely. For the 305 i will make some custom headers for the 267 i used the stock manifolds with a cross over pipe to hook it up. I used a mallory FPR with a GM TBI electric fuelpump.

the guy's name is cadracer, he is a personal friend of our admins.. in a little while he will respond to this post, just wait. He has a work in progress 1969 chevy truck (I think that was the year).. very HMT but very effective, I think he turbo'd a 289 (flat line built block).

good luck with the 305, please take lots of pics and share the info with us, many of us are v8 lovers (ME!). I'll probably be building one soon myself.

I hate carbs, ---- getting gasoline on your hands in a simple task like modifying the fuel curve.
