Im going to change back to my stock plug wires and see what happens with that. i am glad you guys are suggesting something along the lines of ignition though because thats what everyone else that ive asked is saying too.

I always find it amusing when people cant fix things themselfs but instead of looking for help they look for people to argue concepts and theory instead of actually getting ---- done or fixing it. Try plug wires. Anytime you have something wrong with ignition, always try another set of wires.


BTW: What state are you located in? I have a friend with a focus that wants a chip/reflash for his to make it a little better.

the car brand might care what "BRAND" plugs you have, but it doesnt care what gap you set them to. combustion conditions dictate that.

Not a ------- chance when it comes to SMALLER gaps. The only thing that cares is the god-damned coil, and that's rarely made by Ford, Honda, etc - usually by some odd brand. Since its a ford, its probably some Mexican ---- like Buckley you get from autozone for $0.59 in the clearance bin. PhillStubbs probably is using a CDM coil he got from his Chinese maffia people - it works the same, only differently lol. (j/k Phill)

The way boost, coil, and plug gap all works: boost increases the density inside the cylinder. The spark has far more atoms to zap through, and the coil says "oi, decrease the gap fucktard!" in the manner of stuttering like an invalid child you. You then decease gap. I don't really give a flying ---- if your boy wrote the entire 2-page novel on Foci tuning, he wasn't even shitting in diapers when the turbocharged gasoline engine was on its way to being perfected in racing, and he obviously never wrote a paragraph of how electricity jumps between electrodes. The worst thing that will happen with a tiny gap like that is a 1-2% loss in power where a larger gap could be used, such as high vacuum cruising.



lo---------l. I feel the same way, I call it the silver bullet syndrome. They're so hell-bent on finding out what's the exact cause, they never try anything that doesn't appear to be the silver bullet at first glance. Rarely is there a silver bullet - its usually like a hail of buckshot. I had a similar as this Focus issue with my first uberdata tune. I eventually said ---- it, downshifted and BAM i was burning rubber. Turns out my vtec map's timing was fine, but the low-cam map had all -6* timing for boost. Uberdata was one tricky bitch.



Its really too bad you don't live near the OP. Apparently his tuner wrote the book on boosted Fords. For the sake of the OP, maybe he'll write a book on how to FIX the cars soon, too.
