Can oil lines be too long?

Default Can oil lines be too long?

so i found a good deal on some -4an ss line (3 feet) so i can adjust my restrictior from the engine bay, anyway i have steves oil kit so now i have like 6+ feet of line when you start the car the oil should reach the turbo pretty fast still right? i know its a n00bish question but i just want to be sure, i know it will allways bother me if i dont ask

i'm sure it will be fine, but why not just use the 3 feet?

You'll be ok. The oil might take .000000043 of a second more to get to the turbo, but when you start up the car it will be cold, and more than likely won't spin until you gas it anyway.

well sometimes your turbo might smoke and that could cause it, also getting a oil pressure gauge will tell you if the pressure is to high also.

turbo have any play either of the usual directions? do a compression test maybe you toasted some ringlands.

as far as restrictors go, its really a case by case basis. MY 14b does fine with the line wide open, while other 14b's smoke without it. Its kinda hit and miss with those *******.

i think the seals are fucked too, oil leaks out of it! oh and no in-out play, very little side-side play...hypothetically typing, if my ringlands are shot around what psi would they be around?
