Re: >> CAM. VS. TURBOCAMS <<
what about a 272 delta regrind in an a6?
cuz thats whats in my build right now, i changed my mind and went turbo half way through the build. is that going to be bad? i was always under the impression stock cams suck. |
Re: >> CAM. VS. TURBOCAMS <<
some over lap is good.
a 272 is a great cam. works great with boost. |

Re: >> CAM. VS. TURBOCAMS <<
In general, turbo cams (high lift, low duration) work tits for turbo apps. But with hondas, cams with high lift also work tits. ITR cams make much more than stock b16/gsr cams, regardless of boost pressure. But really we're talking about stock vs. almost any cam that wasn't intended for FI on a honda. The fact is high lift, high duration cams on turbo hondas will still make more power over stock. They also seem to show some extra gains from dialing out overlap with cam gears, but sometimes (rarely) the dyno suggests otherwise.
I highly doubt that book you're reading covers FI hondas in specific. I think I've also read in a book promiscuous sex will lead to getting multiple STD's and 8% chance of knocking the girl up. So far I've beat the odds 100%, so we can assume books aren't alway FTW... :1 |
