ok i just got a the chance to build a bad *** motor for my gsr. i want this thing to put down 500hp and and still keep it as my dd. should i build it and if so with what? i mean internals valvetrain i want to do everything. or is there a mean crate motor that i can get that is boost ready? the car is a 94 four door so it will freak people out to see a four door smashing on people. how should i go about this? i really need some advice !!

there is nothing that tells me the best way to do it or the parts i should use. i also see nothing about a crate motor that is boost ready. honestly i like 8 times know still nothing.

 

crate motor? why dont you just go hire a shop to build you a motor. Chances are you're going to blow up many motors... I have my reason to think the way I do.

 

give me a couple of reasons b16drag.

 

pretty steep bill to foot.

dont expect to run 500whp daily and last.

 

I believe a crate block would be similar to a Dart block, so you may want to consider one of those. You oughtta slow down and read more it seems, or pay someone to do the thinking. To keep 500 reliable is going to be a huge challange...make sure everything is done right and your tuner is superb. A 500 hp car will not only need engine internal mods, but also need upgrades throughout (brakes, axles, maybe diff, suspension, etc)

 

maybe i will just build the motor for 15psi on the street and 20psi for the track. i am going to do all my own work. i have always built the d series and told myself i will never do the b series. that is the only reason i am doing it. so i will apply my d series knowledge and put it towards the gsr. i figured i would ask you guys and get some kind of input from people who have done them.
