breaking in rebuilt engine

i just rebulit my 4ag with low comp, blah blah blah.
anyways first time going boosted.
i wanna push about 2 psi to break the engine in for the first month or so. then start upping my boost.
not quite sure how though. do i just unscrew the actuator.

my worry is that ill slap it on for the first time and it will be at like 10psi or something.

slowly get it to redline, then let it decel fully getting into high vacuum. do this a few times and your rings set and the engine is broken in. It's easy to argue its broken in after idling 30 secs.

i wouldent run boost on it at all to break it in though. at least 2 oil changes within the next 100-200 miles

Do some high vacuum pulls then rape it at full boost. :y

most the local imca racers around here recommend letting it sit at about 3k for about 15 minutes then change the oil and run it like regular. there motors can last anywhere from 1 lap to 2 seasons, so its kind of a toss up on wether it works or not.

I usually just drive the car, make sure it's tuned and do some higher rpm pulls and decel with the clutch engaged a few times.

---- THAT ----...

Some partial throttle at various loads for 20 minutes or so... then tune into boost... ---- we were RAPING my POS not 3 hours after it was lit.

I agree with the break em in hard and they run hard train of thought

I agree with bigdaddy, i too just rebuilt and boosted my 4age , havent driven it yet, hopefully over the weekend. Didnt change my piston rings though . Gonna take it easy for like 2 micro seconds then i will just go into "---- it "mode and take that bitch to redline.
