The only thing I can think of what you are hearing is a shitty blow off valve going off late and your hearing a combination of compressor surge and the blow of valve.

Compressor surge fades away just like that, it sounds retarded.

This kind of sound happens w/my Turbo smart valve when the spring is too heavy or too many washers are installed - like the pressure can't quite open the valve all the way.

why are you so concerned with the sound of the BOV? You should be concerned about spool times, turbo efficiency, engine management, and tuning.

Damn ricers.

The Drift cars are pushing lots of boost and they stay in medium to high RPM's, CONSTANTLY blipping the throttle and making adjustments. What would constantly blipping the throttle do on a car in the high RPM's with a lot of boost do?

By golly it would make the BOV sound a bunch of times!

Get a ------- 1G DSM BOV for $50. You'll be happy with it.

the black bosch BOV's make that nice fluttering sound with the right amount of boost....and the drift cars that you hear blowing off its not blow off...its compresor surge...the real drift cars go str8 from turbo to IC then IM....no lag....the flutter isnt that loud but its audible...hope that helped you with your search.

how exactly does that make no lag? the compressor surge would stop the spool

that turkey call video was funny

no ---- right, no bov isn't very efficient, the turbo stops every time you let off the throttle b/c the compressed air 'surges' back in to it instead of being realeased out of the bov, therefore making the turbo have to spool up in every gear instead of staying spooled.

I know which BOV your talking about. It kinda reminds me of a Salt Shaker

its not the BOV its cause they have a (big)turbo that keeps spinning creating boost so it flutters the BOV.

There was a Blitz BOV out that you could put an insert on the end of and it would make the sound you're thinking of. What I would describe it as is a Rattle Snake.
