borg warner turbo specs???
Ok so today I found a borg warner turbo off what I believe is a 94-95 chevy c1500. I need to find the specs on this turbo and so far havent found ----. Most likely ill go buy it tomorrow anyways, but i still would like to find some specs on this sucker if anyone knows.
Bout time I found a minimal shaft play turbo locally lol, all the others I usually find are completely fucked

haha if its that large then nothing, ill likely clean it up and sell it off then... All I have is a sohc zc. dont wanna spool at my redline....
the yards asking $150 for it, ill likely give them $100 or so. Sound like a deal?

Re: borg warner turbo specs???
thats fine and all, its not going on my sohc zc lol. i was going to buy it and sell it.....
but i really dont know how much shaft play is too much. so i dont want to go buy a turbo for $150+ and try to sell it and get screwed ya know? nor do i want to sell a jacked *** turbo to someone not knowing.
if its worth say $200 or so, its worth my time ot go pull it and sell it, if not, then it can stay in the yard lol.
so again, what could i use to measure good and bad shaft play that i could find to run up there with?? credit card or what??

Re: borg warner turbo specs???
$200 dollars for a junkyard turbo...those guys can eat my nuts. i picked up 3 for $75. one is ------- huge schwitzer( same as borg warner, shredded comp. wheel) one garrett labeled "rebuilt for GM" that just had a plant growing in the exhaust housing, and a mini-me turbo off an old dodge colt. i love this area.

Re: borg warner turbo specs???
actually sometimes, I do pay over 200$ for good junkyard GM 6.5 turbos. i think they are Worth it. A good rebuild for peace of mind and they can bring you in the 300, even 400 WHP range easily and with a BETTER reliability than a standard garrett t3/t4 because they're ALL quipped with the bolted down 360° thrust plate from the factory.
