the exhaust side of the turbo is a 48 from a sabb and the cold side is a 63 from thunderbird, anything over 8 pounds on a zc i would get a good sized t3

that's like the size differences between toyota truck bottom ends and honda bottom ends, that is insane. what is the d16a7? Does the d16a9 truly have a bigger bottom end? are those pictures correct? or is the d16a7 dinky? I think we need some clarification because those pictures show humongous differences.

I took the picture and it is correct.
D16A6 and D16A7 are 1.6 SOHC engines.
D16A8 and D16A9 are 1.6 DOHC, known as DOHC ZC.

Ok, so I am in about the same situation as you, except that the ZC is built so I want to run up to about 15 psi. I have looked at a few turbos

T25 - I figure this is way too small for my app.
T3/T4 - .42 A/R COMPRESSOR
.48 A/R TURBINE
T3/T4 - . 50 A/R COMPRESSOR
.63 A/R TURBINE
T3 - ? AR
T4 - ? AR
14B

Given your knowledge, which turbo out of these do you think will give the best performance while retaining some decent spool times for daily driving?

Thanks! (and I did search! ;-) )

Unless something is goofy about the D16a7 crank or the d16a9 really does have bigger journals than any other D-series.

Reguardless, all d-series rods are the weak point, I wouldnt shoot for any goals over 250whp.
