It isn't like I just started doing this yesterday. I've worked on a shitload of hondas and built every motor under the sun when it comes to them.

First off. 20psi is fine on that compressor map. Hell i ---- what you think you know about effiecency islands, c16 + timing and 20-22psi is going to get you a hell of a trap speed.

I don't play around with stupid little 10psi daily drivers on pump gas.

Peak efficency islands are for stock setups and cars without big fuel and cooling systems. The tdo5h is a small turbo by nature and you drop effieceny quickly with rev's, but in the real world you can go a bat out of hell even if your not running on your peak islands.

There's a lot of guys on tdo5h turbo's here in the northwest running 120-130mph traps at *GASP* 20-24psi on them. I've said it a million times, and I'm sure I'll have to do it a few more yet; Big turbo's are not always better.

And I've had to correct you every time you go into detail about them. For someone who does so much work with Honduhs, you sure don't know a goddamn thing about them.

14B on a Honduh that breathes 17 times better than a 4G63 is going to run out of compressor before 20 psi. crx304, I belive it was, maxed the 14B on his D16 at 14-15 psi. That's with poorly flowing D-crap cylinder head, when you step up to a B...

FYI, Minor Threat's estimate of 22 lbs of air (~220 whp) off 9 psi with a B18B is about correct. Might be a touch less, actually, due to the 14B's poor flow.

Koby, Big Fish! Go calc us up what 20-22 psi on said B18B is going to be power wise, and measure how many inches off the screen the 14B compressor map appears on that you plot to. Thanks!

Already did that, it's about 2 inches from the peak island, give or take a bit.

Results speak for themselves. You obvisouly have never built a ------- td05h honda for high boost or see one race.

Whoa now, this thread turned violent.

I appreciate everyones input. And MT - could you show me where I could get that application you're using?

The 14B though it may not be an all out performance turbo, Koby makes the best point, it'll still haul *** on the street which is what my buddy is looking for. It won't be the best setup, no, but it'll be cost effective and still a hell of a lot of fun. This car has a ton of dynomat, leather interior, a system from hell, and a new paint job (stock body parts, no ricer ----). This car is for having fun, not ***** out racing.

Thanks for everyones input a ton, has helped a lot. Is the ECU out his car chippable or do I need to start tracking down a new ECu to be chipped for crome\uber now? Anyone have a good source for them? This is the first honda i've built.

Koby, wonder if we've met before. You post on pos too dont ya? dsm pimps holla out hahah

If it is a b18b then it could be either OBD1, OBD2a, or OBD2b depending on the year. What year is his car?

You should be fine though. If it is either OBD2a, or OBD2b you have to get a conversion harness to switch over to OBD1, then just get the ecu chipped.

Its a 96, how can I tell if its A or B? Is it printed on the code?

Can you tell me where to purchase the harness? Thanks so much man.

Sounds like my fuel\tuning concern there isn't gonna be a big cost.

It is OBD2a then. You can purchase an OBD2a conversion harness from Chris, www.-------------

Then just get the ecu chipped, he does that service also.

And he matches prices on the conversion harness
