Re: Boosted D16 runs shitty..
Other than the leak and some mad valve noise, it sounds like it's running fine in that video. Try and get something with some better quality to post up.

Re: Boosted D16 runs shitty..
how much psi did you tune it for w/ partial throttle? if it spiked to 20psi it definately went way lean and too much timing. i've run 14psi on my y7, but i wouldn't think it could take a 20psi spike.
connecting the compressor outlet nipple to the wastegate shouldn't cause it to run or idle rough. it's got to be something outside of that. |

I'm going to fix the exhaust leak tonight when I get home, hopefully that will clear some of the roughness up... |
Re: Boosted D16 runs shitty..
UPDATE! The car ran a LOT smoother this morning with air being much cooler. I think the roughness is partially due to the 95+ degree weather we've had here over the past couple days. It's not the only thing causing it, but it makes a big difference.
Unfortunately I didnt get time to tinker last night because my future inlaws came to town.. But tonight I will be getting the gaskets into the exhaust, checking all my vacuum lines (ought to be fun.. ::)) and taking it from there. I'll also be doing a compression test, just for peace of mind. If anyone has any other suggestions please post up, thanks for your help so far! |
Re: Boosted D16 runs shitty..
well if the air temp is ------- with it then i'm willing to bet that the IAT sensor is changing the mixture (like it's supposed to) but in your case it's just ------- up your tune. Sounds like you could disable closed loop mode for a quick fix possibly. What are you using to tune? uber, crome?

Re: Boosted D16 runs shitty..
Crome. How do I disable closed loop, just plug the o2 sensor wire back in?
