Default Big 16g?

Can someone tell me a little about htis turbo? The search feature doesn't seem to be working. Is it bigger smaller than a 14b? I am assuming bigger. How about compared to the t3/t4? It has the same flange and fittngs as the 14b? Good turbo for a D series?

Thanks.

It's a good deal larger on the compressor side than the 14b, and although the exhaust wheel is the same for both 14b and 16g (both are the tdo5h wheel) the 16g has a 7cm^2 exhaust housing instead of the 14b's 6cm^2 housing. The evo3 big 16g's still have the same flange as 14b's, but beware of the newer evo8-9 style tdo5h/16ghr...not only do they have a different exhaust flange (split tang, real funny design), but the "hr" on the back of 16g means "high output, reverse direction"...meaning you can't swap any other 16g parts to that turbo.http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/c...sormaps/#mitsu has a large collection of compressor maps, just scroll down to the big 16g one and take a look compared to the 14b.
As for comparing it to a t3/t4...a t3/t4 what? What size, what trim, what a/r? These are things you need to know to try and compare them...otherwise it's all apples to oranges.

14b is ideal for d16 16g should spool about as fast but move more cfm t3 will lag more than 16g

Wrong...14b is an ideal size for a d16, but the 16g spools slower. The 14b's 6cm^2 housing is like a .46 a/r, and the 16g's 7cm^2 is around a .61 a/r. And to say a t3 will lag more is bs...it all depends on the a/r of the exhaust housing. A garrett t3 .48 exhaust housing can spool up just as fast if not faster than a 16g. The reason the tdo5h wheels on the MHI turbos seem to spool up so fast is because of the design of the wheel...it's a more efficient design than garrett's. FYI, the tdo5h wheel is kept all the way up to the MHI 20g as well, only the size of the housing changes...20g is a 8cm^2 exhaust housing.
