Default Best setup?

I'm totally new to FI..

I'm running an H22 EG hatch right now and was interested in boosting. What kinda turbo should I be looking for to run on stock motor?

Compression hit 250 250 251 252. I'm pretty sure stock H22s are supposed to be around 215, so I'm assuming I've got considerable carbon buildup. I plan on cleaning it out and port matching everything first.

I'd like to grab something out of like a DSM or whatever, along with injector's etc, but I'm not sure what would suit this motor. I'm looking for something smaller and safer.

I got an ARC welder right now and MIG coming very soon so, it shouldn't be a problem building the manifold and pipes.

I've read thru the new user faq and this site,
http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

welcome to the forums.

first off, you're goals are good but you need to do some deep consideration with that motor. Unless you plan on dumping thousands into it to have it out of the car for a few months at a machine shop then don't expect to go over 6psi.

The webmaster (Abaz) recently did up his girlfriend's H22 hatch, look for it in the general discussion forum a couple weeks back. It will provide all the pics you need and a good idea of where to go.

Consider the alternatives of maybe going with a F22 and boosting the hell out of that, plenty of F22 info from our resident accord guys in the long *** post in this forum.

Good luck with your ventures.

if you are turboing the 22, i think that your first option would be to save your money and get the block re-sleeved. yeah, you can get away with low boost, but, it might not last long. i'm sure that people will tell you that you don't need to re-sleeve, which is true to a certain psi level, but, the 22 sleeves are brittle and are not friendly to high cylinder pressure and heat. b series sleeves are stronger.
