I don't know if THAT is the same blower but my buddy runs the 944 turbo on is EW8 block with a d16a1 head, and that thing has some *****..

Its an Audi part # for sure, but not coming up on my happy little program, so its more than likely from a 5000. I think I remember something about the exhaust housings being diff from year to year, but it probably wont make much difference. And no I do not think they are ball bearing, Ive heard about ppl modifying the center cartrige to accept a ball bearing THRUST bearing, but I dont think they came like that from the factory.

yeah the k26's dont come bb AFIK.


the exhuast houseing is great, but the compression houseing doesnt flow enough cfm for anything over 300hp, but you can get a k27 compressor to fit on there, kinda like a t3/to4 turbo. thats what i read, but you hear alot of speculation on this kind of thing


anyways on my dohc d16a1 im putting down 190 whp on factory internals @ 10psi (9.5 to 1 compression). full boost by around 3500 rpms.....


mines the porsch 944 turbo, the guy i got it from pulled it @ a junkyard and i got it from here

fubar i just got your pm the oil line i got from herehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EARLS...QQcmdZViewItem and yes i have to tap the stock turbo fitting 1/4 but its easy to do.

I just rebuilt two k26 like that this week.
THey are journal bearing turbos.
