First run was more or less a test pass. I launched way too soft. Im used to preloading and launching on my rev limiter.
Now that Ive got an anti-lag its totally different. I didnt build enough boost and just bogged out of the hole. Hence the 1.999 60 ft.

Second run wasnt much better. I busted my 2nd gear in the burnout box. My own mistake. Ive been told not to shift in the burnout. But I did, and I felt something break.

I launched a bunch better on 2nd run with a 1.741 60 ft, but my 2nd gear locked out for a bit and then I just jammed it in and went from there.

All in all. Im very happy with my MPH for the power im making. A new trans and Ill be out there bringing back 10.99 very soon.

Most of you know my setup but here it is anyway.

90 STD hatch gutted.
z6 block w/ vitaras and eagles.
Y7 head stock with aem cam gear. z6 intake manifold and t/b stock.
Cast iron ebay manifold with holset h1c @ 22-23 psi. 3 inch DP. No exhaust.
23x8x13 m&h on lenso's.
Tuned by Xenocron. Car made 280whp but since then has been re tuned on the street.
I *think* Si trans lol. Dont matter anymore its busted. Case cracked up right behind the diff somehow, fluid everywhere. And I still drove it home 70 miles !

wow man awesome times right there. with just 280 whp.. amazing

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

Thanks.

But the times suck balls lol.
I went 12.1 with only 200whp.

But I am very pleased with my MPH.
Cant wait to get back out there.

thats a nasty budget highway killer right there. funny about driving it home 70 miles with a cracked case!

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

Haha I couldnt hear ---- but my diff howling. Sounded like a car with straight cut gears but 5 times louder lol.

Yea its fun on the highway, but it just feels so much faster on the slicks.

I just need to make a clean pass !

8400 in the burnout box is nice.

Sounds pretty good too.

I gotta remember to make in car vids next time I go.

for real nice times

btw, what do you mean anti-lag?

D16Y8-Z6 03-30-2008 10:39 PM

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

Boost builder.

onlyflash944 03-30-2008 10:48 PM

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

nitrous?

QikEnuF 03-30-2008 10:52 PM

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

It's not nitrous. It builds boost on the line so you can leave under a decent amount of boost. Retards the ---- all out of the timing, and runs real rich to build exhaust gas pressure in the manifold.

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

interesting, is this an add-on in crome or something?

Not sure about crome, but most standalones and some chips allow you to do it. As posted above it simply fucks with timing and fuel to build boost when you are at the line.

Eats turbos.

To the OP, nice MPH, good story with the tranny.

onlyflash944 03-31-2008 12:09 AM

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

kind of reminds me of the full throttle launch control, wonder if it could be controled with crome or w/e

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.

Pretty sure a Holset is hardy enough for antilag not to ---- it up

That's my car using crome. I just went into my low cam map ABOVE my vtec engagement, 6000-7000rpm. Retarded the timing to -6* and added some fuel. Too much fuel made it build boost slower, too little made it take like 5 seconds. You just gotta ---- with it.

WHy would you be shifting in the burnout?

Start out in second, plenty of wheelspeed to warm up the slicks.

Bone I clearly stated I made a mistake. Its a habit, been doing it for a while.

Get off my case ! haha

It's amazing how long you can run a sohc tranny with no fluid. 8) I lasted a good week using a CX tranny that I wanted to kill. Fucker still worked when I pulled it out too. Too bad about the tranny but still hitting 12's with a fucked up tranny. That's hardcore Joe. :6

The d series transmission reminds why I dont build those motors anymore. Solid times. Need to weld the diff or go lsd.

D16Y8-Z6 03-31-2008 08:29 PM

Re: Back from the Track w/ Slips. Broke my Tranny.*Pics up*

Im not having traction problems.
I really dont think I need an lsd at this power level.

BTW pics are up of the tranny. It broke right where the rear bracket bolts to the trans.

Thats what i was thinking.

Bone I have a 4-speed tranny can i just slam a 5-speed gear set in it and bet ready to rock or is their more to it?

Havent taken it apart year.

All I can see though is behind the pass side axle seal there is a bunch of metal floating around the bearing.
