B16A CRX turbo with AC?
Has anyone successfully put an HMT on a CRX with a B16A and kept the AC? If so, any pointers on getting everything to fit? I plan on using a half width radiator and thin fan, the turbo is still going to be only about an inch from the AC radiator. (what's the proper term for that?) The freon lines are in the way.
Oh, and I don't care if you think it's stupid to keep the AC. I am doing this for my own enjoyment, and I can't enjoy driving my car if I am hot, sweaty, and miserable.

You could try to mount the turbo upside down off a log manifold and see if that helps with clearance but then you have to worry about the clearance between the turbo and your hood.

"Sidewinder" style, remove battery, and have you checked out Jeff's car. From the pics it looks like he has a ---- load of space up front. And yes any compotent AC shop should be able to make you some new lines.

I've seen it done, with an HKS mani, T28, FMIC and loooong pipework. IIRC it had an unusual downpipe as well and needed some messing about with the exhaust flange too, plus had a Mugen kit giving enough space for the IC, but a full size rad. This was on a JDM SiR, turbo'd in Japan and imported into the UK. So you can do it, it will just take some planning

I'd love to run a sidewinder, but $1000 is way out of my price range, especially when you factor in the cost of battery relocation, external wastegate, etc. Do they still sell the cast type? I don't see it on their site anymore.
