Default Automatic Transmittion and Boost

Hey HMT guys! I have yet another question. Im running a 14b turbo setup with my 96 Civic EX im doing that whole OBD I and injectors things rather than and AVC. Anyways I have had one person tell me that my transmittion(automatic) will not be able to take boost (apx 9lbs). Is this guy an idiot or should i actually listen to him, if so what should i do about it?

Personally i think he is an idiot because he has not given me a reason to think my transmittion wouldn't be able to take it.

Ok so what is very low boost?
And so tranny cooler should be able to help me. Yea i kinda am stuck to this idea, I kinda declare war on every stock 1.8T at VCU (long drunken story). Anyways i have to go through with it and i kinda just blew my motor a few months ago (it was NA, i dont know how it happened though) and i really dont want to get another motor, so i want to do this right.

if you want to do it right then do a 5sp conversion, in the end it'll be less of a headache

i run 11psi on my 96 y7 auto.. holds up just fine.. just remember it will be slower than a 5 speed with the same setup.. and yes with an obd2 auto car your most likley gonna be stuck with a piggyback fuel unit.. im running the hack on mine for over 20k miles with no problems..

Yea thanks for the advise

I have heard of ppl doing just fine with the automatic, however i heard stories that it wasnt smart.

I am doing an OBDI conversion, and my friend said that uberdata would work with the automatic.

eh, forget 5spd conversion, if anything just sell your car and buy a manual, thats the cheapest "5spd conversion" ever.

i know it kinda sucks cuz you get attatched to your car, but hey, gotta do whatcha gotta do.

So if you have an automatic transmission the only options are fmu or AFC hack? or is it possible to get a chipped ecu? say from xenocron? just tryin to make sure before i put too much money into a turbo set up.
