Re: Anyone use Rotella?

dont run it in a 6.0l ford diesel, the injectors hate it. Dont know why but thats what I have read, I run amsoil in mine.

only real legitmite difference in higher end brand name engine oils is the additive package they provide.

for you guys running heavier weight oils, do you notice any problems on cold start up? i mean like sub 40's and lower, or do you live in warmer climates. i run synthetic 5w30 in the winter and summer and have been considering trying something a lil heavier. also, cant using a higher viscosity oil ---- with an engine that is clearanced and built to run a thinner weight oil.

i use it in my eg and forget to change it for like 5k miles. still dont have any problems with it. good cheap oil right there.

I used to run the rotella 15w40 in my old b16a hatch, that stuff was great. Great oil pressure, never broke down and left all that brown gunk in my head, and cheap too. Don't run that weight in colder temps though, it can be cranky to start and with how thick the oil gets in cold weather isn't really good for the motor either.

My new ride gets Mobil 1 full synthetic for daily driven days, and Royal Purple for hard abuse track days.

I use Rotella non stup in the Tercel. It was only a few bucks more then the no name stuff so I figured "why not", plus it burns off slower.

big rigs dont run cats. the new emmisions standard force most of them to have a dpf. some also have a regen system that shoots fuel down the exhaust and reburns. exhaust temps can reach around 2000 degrees during regen.

rotella Is the best. It has something to do with the zinc it has. We were a freightliner dealer and had drums of it back in the day.

rotella is for dieasel trucks not really for your cars it has good cleaning property due to the fact it made for dieasel engines and burns off slower cause dieasels run at higher temps duh, and zinc is a metal mineral so lets put just put sand in the valve cover, before you call bs read about it and other oils
