The UK MkIII/IV Escort is very similar to the US 1st gen escort. They are both a FWD car with a CVH engine, they have the same exact suspension in the rear and the 81/82 US Escorts have the same front suspension as the UK Escort. Both bodies are very similar in design, though no body parts are really interchangeable.

My guess on the race car is a Ford Festiva, but I am probably wrong. That is the strangest valve cover I have ever seen.

for my mates race car its a fiat uno. its got a 1.1 engine, fully forgeded internails, full race cam, motor bike carbs, 2 speed straight cut box and a few tricks my mates dad learnt over the last 6 years doing unos.

my mate is the nationail champ 2 years in a row in is class. but wat do you expectwith a car that can rev to 11000, bout 120 bhp. it dnt sound alot but it pulled quicker then my rs turbo i had.

justbeen lookin at the links on this page and see you also have sierras over there you call them merker xr4.

we ave them over ere but called sierras like i said.
they come in all different models 1.6, 1.8 2.0, 2.4 v6 4x4 and the best of thm all the cosworth a 2.0 dohc 24v turbo. 220bhp std people over ere r pushin these to over 500bhp.

there is a mk5 escort as wellwhich come withthis cosworth enginge but to models of it , big or little turbo.

i think they also do a 1.9 cvh wich some people put into there escorts.

back to the rs turbo anyway. they use the 1.6 turbo cvh in another ford car called a fiesta. the only differe between this and the escort is the fiesta is smaller uses a t2 and as efi instead of the escorst mpi.

 

Yep, we got the Merkur XR4Ti over here instead of the sierra. I have one of those too. Our Merkurs here got the 2.3 OHC engine with a turbo only, but it is a very stout engine.

All of the 1st gen Escorts over here got the 1.6 or the 1.9. We also got a 1.6 turbo engine in the 84 Escort GT Turbo and also the 84 EXP Turbo. As far as exporting parts, I would probably be interested in an RS transmission. There is another guy in Canada that has an RS transmission that he is working on making fit in his Escort EXP. We are also getting together some roller rockers for the CVH engine. I don't know if the folks across the pond would be interested in them but if you are on a forum for Escorts over there, then you could let them know. The prototype rockers will be getting built in about a month or two. I will be trying them out in my car.
