Anybody tried something like this?

Seeing how I'm using the dsm injectors, mitsu turbo, and damn near everything else from an eclipse on my accord would it be possible to use the dsm ecu instead of using the afc? If I changed up my harness and got all the pins to go where they need to be would the ecu be able to run my f22? Just seemed like a decent idea to me. If this sounds stupid just let me know why.

i don't think they would be in any way compatable, timing issues would prolly be different, different sensors, etc.

dont smoke crack....there are about a hundred reasons that wont work...the car is a honda, the motor is a honda, the only thing dsm is the injectors

I dont know. I look at it like an engine is an engine. Different bore, timing, sizes but it is still an engine that works the same way. Just like a computer is a computer. There cant be that much difference between the 2 ecus. I know the timing will be different but that can be fixed. Come on somebody has to be a friggen computer genius around here and know an exact reason why it wouldnt work.

Also I have a spare eclipse sitting around that I could use the sensors from too.

I'm sure if you somehow rigged the DSM sensors to work with the Honda motor and wired the DSM ECU into the Honda car correctly it could work, but with the technology we have nowadays(TurboEdit, Hondata, AEM,etc...etc...) it would be too much of a hassle and a waist of time IMO. Why not just get a standalone and call it good?

basically because I can get everything dirt ass cheap. And you really cant beat a factory turbo ecu. Oh yeah and its kinda hard to find someone that can mod my ecu. Seems like nobody has turocharged accord love so they dont mess with our ecus.

Yeah, a factory ECU that can read boost would be the thing to have. If you think you can do it, go for it. AT least do some research and see if it is possible. Maybe you will be the first to do this? :-\

Hondata, GetthoDyne, Edyne....all these would be much less headache...Check out engine managment forum

Re:Anybody tried something like this?

sure an engine is an engine, but they dont work the same...dsm's have cam position sensors, and no distributor, thats something you cant get around in my book....this would be the biggest waste of time...your ecu will work fine with an afc or smc
