another HG question D-seires

ok i am painting my crx soon and i have to pull the motor out so i am ordering some arp head studs and a new HG to reach my goal of 275-300hp stock bottom end.. i am wondering if i should spend the $111 bux to get an HKS metal gasket or if i should just stick with an OEM gasket.. for those of you who dont know this is for my DOHC ZC...

MLS with Copper Spray. That'll be the consensus, I feel. ARPs, should clamp whatever you through in there down pretty well.

From what I've heard, you're better off with the HKS, no one seems to have luck with keeping the D16A1 gasket from blowing when really pushing power.

most head gasket blow outs arent the gaskets fault, its either improper install/build or shitty tuning. OEM metal FTW

find me a thread on that other site that shows a HG blowing for no reason (aside from 50000000000 miles and over heating)

If the A1 gasket is MLS, or another D series OEM MLS gasket works, use that. Otherwise go with the HKS.

well i ahve heard all of the OEM ones are mls now.. i judt wonder if its really going to make that big of a diff.. plus i was reading and the hks one bumps compression to 9.9:1 so it may be OEM FTW..
