Default Aluminum Adapter Plate

My adapter plate is steel, but since I've done my turbo from this website, everyone I know with a D-series (which is a lot of people) wants to try it. They keep askin me for parts and I can get aluminum adapter plates made by my neigbor for cheap as hell but he said aluminum expands under heat, but then he said as long as its bolted between the manifold and the turbo, it'll probly work. So, will they work or not?

After looking at that, i take it a peice of sheetmetal wouuld not be good as a gasket? I have a pretty bad exhaust leak that i need fixed asap. I have some sheetmetal, im just wondering if it will hold up to the temps. Anyone know?

I don't know about the temps for sheetmetal, but they make metal gasket stuff where you make your own gaskets for exhaust and what not...look for that in the auto parts store.

*edit* they have it at pep boys, in the gaskets, adhesives, and sealants section. got like 3 different brands all meant for high heat gasket applications.
