what would i need to make a copper line?
You'd just need the fittings + the line

details please. tools? bender? special type/size of fittings?

I got mine from autometer. I was gonna set it up on my own but it was cheap anyways so I said ---- it and just bought the copper line kit from them.

alot of times they end up breaking after hard shifting and stuff off of the back of the gauge where it goes in.

just take your guage to your local home improvement store, go to the plumbing section and you can find everything you need to make a hard line. i made a copper hard line for my fuel pressure guage and fuel pressure safety switch (for my nawwwss). you will need the appropriate size copper tubing, a small tubing cutter, fittings for the ends of the tubing (i used the automatic crimping kind that come with a little ring and nut to assemble), and it doesn't hurt to have one of those handheld tubing benders (looks like a funky set of pliers). you can bend the tubing by hand, but it will turn out much nicer looking if you use the bender.

hope this helps

thanks. as for the breaking, thats a consideration also.. despite how much bracing you use, the engine is always gonna tilt. maybe if you have enough or create a special bend to absorb it? unless you have solid motor mounts i guess..

your oil pressure gauge line should have a few loops in it to take engine movement.

At the track the tech-guy noticed the nylon tubing for the oil pressure gauge. Luckily I had it disconnected because the turbo was out. He said if it was connected, he wouldn't pass me because they required steel braided line.
