Advise me :- Im confused. Calling all D series and other Turbo'ed people

Ok Guys here goes.

I was reading the previous "threads" and came across acouple of older ones, which state that the " d series" ar not good to BOOST. they are no good as the Rods in side the engines are like match sticks. and will crumple under the extra force. made by the turbo.

In other threads I read about sucess stories. of the D Series. I dont want to run my engine, but im papered to spend my money on decent products to prolong life of my car / engine.

So any People here with the D series engine, please advise.
Its my daily driver and i do some times 200 miles in it a day. So I dont want a unreliable car.

and I still havent found the thread about the " testing of turbos"

So guys ur honest Opinions.
My budget is 1,000$ - 1,300$

so throw ur ideas at me, the last thing i dont want is, a car that dont run. :(

The added forces created by the turbo (within reason) don't add much stress on the engine's structure.

The engine already sees a certain amount of "peak pressure" (or stress) due to inertial loads created by rpm.

Just make sure the stress that the turbo makes does not exceed the inertial stress that normally exists in your engine.

But, I'm not saying that adding a turbo won't increase wear...It will.

Anybody with a "D" series have any input?

I can make LS rods fit a d crank, and LS cranks are alot thicker than the D series rods. Also LS rods could take 300 hp or so without breaking. Just get some LS rods and some SRP pistons.

if i`d spend money to machine LS rods...since u will need to use metal brushing also...might as well spend a little more and get a set of Egale rod...

I only spent around $100 in machining and rods

Are you serious? 200 Miles in a day? That's 73k a year. I don't reccomend any performance oriented anything if that's all the money you've got and you're driving that much. That's like 5 hours of driving a day minimum.

I would go t3 .48/.42 with 8psi. Maybe dyno tune a vafc hack into it and it should be pretty reliable. 8)

It looks like he doesn't want to boost he just wants to strengthen his engine so it can stand all of the miles.
