you DON'T need the FMU if you are using the s-afc and larger injectors, you also DON'T need the missing link with the s-afc. if you used the FMU and your stock injectors, you would need the missing link. you don't need to run the FMU and the afc together, they are two seperate alternatives of fuel management.

I spoke to a guy who runs a tuning shop for turbos here. He showed me a Del Sol with all of the parts I mentioned and he said that all of the parts do a specific job and would be needed for perfect tuning. I asked him about the FMU and FPR with the SAFC2 and he said...use the FMU to raise or lower fuel volume to the rail, use the FPR to regulate a steady pressure to the fuel rail and the SAFC2 to control the up and down of the injector pulse. Tell me what yoiu think....I mean this Del Sol he has tuned into the high 11's and he's not done yet... I will post some pics for you this afternoon for you to see. The car also has the missing link on it.

the fmu raises fuel volume when it sees boost, but that is why you set your s-afc different at different rpms points so that it will give you more fuel at the rpms where there is more boost, basically, they do the same thing, but the s-afc is better and safer, i've never heard of anyone using an fmu and s-afc. maybe he had stock injectors, if you don't have larger injectors you need the fmu
