Re: First HMT (In progress) & Pics
Update!! Finally managed to get started.
Low boost application.
No more than 5 PSI tops.
2.5' exhaust from bottom of oil pan/out. 2" at turbo outlet.
Boost and Oil gauge.
FMIC W/ 2.25 mandrel bent tubing.
Fuel management - We'll see how the FMU does.
Automatic for now also; after this is completed I will be putting in a manual.
8-13-07 - Started dismantling the exhaust and managed to bolt the turbo manifold and turbo up to the head with problems galore. So far, I have managed to take all that has been in my way. (Condensor fan & alternator) I would like to keep A/C since I do live down in the FL weather. I managed to devise a way and make a bracket for the alternator; it was way too close to the exhaust side. Moved the alternator out and put a longer belt on.
8-14-07 & 8-15-07 - Started mocking up an exhaust; went searching around for bends at local junkyards, and managed to get a free turbo! I'll post some pics up soon on that. Once I get done with this exhaust I don't think many will believe it could happen but damn it surely is a tight fit.
Clearance is my issue, so little room to work with, hence I would still like to keep everything.
Well, here's a couple old pictures of the turbo intake and exhaust side.
