I'm a n00b at a lot of things I am trying to do right now and it's great - who wants to do the same old ---- a hundred times over? Why? Expert manifold makers keep telling me that you can stick the exit at any angle and it doesn't matter.

the only difference would be small changes in the static and dynamic pressures in side the dump tube and mani. total pressure wouldn't really fluctuate. and even though most everyone thinks of air as a compressible substance, it still takes time for equilibrium to take place. what im getting at is that say you let off the throttle, the exhaust 'stacks' up in the manifold, sort of like a pressure wave from the the turbo back to the head. thats wave is what opens the wastegate, so it really isn't going to make a huge difference the angle its at. at least thats my theory, and i like to think i have a decent grasp of fluid mechanics concepts

I was making a smartassed comment at turbob16hatch's expense, Your theory is wrong, as flow doesn't like to change directions instantly due to this thing called inertia. That's when shear happens. Shallow convergent and divergent angles reign supreme.

The welds all need to be ground down a little and I am going to pray that I don't have to pay too much to jet hot everything, but so far so good. It will be fired up and tested before jet hot coated chrome though I couldn't leave you with camera pics :)
