BTW, how does this have anything to do w/ Forced Induction?
94 Del Sol VTEC had a b16a3 and is technically a "Civic Del Sol" :P

I got a question then, How can you build a honda b18 short block to spin up to 9,000 or even 10,000 rpm's without spinning a bearing or some other catastrophic failure under high boost
We all know what to do to a head valvetrain etc, but what about the block.
Do sleeves help? lightweight rods? special conn, main bearings and thrust bearings help? certain oil/water pump?
If anyone has brand names to do such a thing let me know I want to start building more of these b18 blocks for very high rpm and boost.

Start with a good rod ratio. this means no LS blocks. The ideal 1.8L 10,000 rpm engien would be a b16 bored over to 1.8L.

destroke and bore the b18

or just get good pistons and rods, balance the lower end, and hope it doesnt blow :P

Do you really want to run the risk of spinning a motor to 10k rpms and have it be reliable? Stick with your current built LS block and call it a day man.
