What kind of power are you looking to do?

I also have been living under a rock. That truck is pimp, I'd drive that for sure.

well, It is still a stock motor, but I have done a bunch of research and I hear these motors with a metal headgasket and forged pistons can handle over 25 lbs of boost. It is a closed deck iron block with super thick cylinder walls. Stock this motor puts out like 135 hp and 175 torque on 5.5 lbs of boost on the tiny turbo. I think that if I replace the turbo with a 60 trim t3 and up the boost to like 8-10, I should be hitting 200-210 whp. nothing too much, as it is my daily driver and the only tuning available is megasquirt or a stand-alone, no piggybacks.

The 22-RTE is a pretty stout engine, with a shitty turbo system (tiny inefficient turbo, no intercooler). I just wish they made more of the pickups and 4-Runners in Turbo trim.

the t3 60 trim .48/.60 is definitely a good candidate for 210 WHP. to maintain a spool up as quick as the original, the stage 1½ turbine wheel sounds appealing.

It was too expencive, was not that reliable @ an OEM level & had no torque. So they ditched them for the n/a v6's ASAP. We use to get alot of R's in for work. They suuuuck. After the first few rebuilds most techs hate seeing the things roll in the shops. Great engine family for 1980, but they most definately were showing their age by the end of that decade.

The cold start injector is only 75-125cc'ish. While it could be stuck open, it would not cause that amount of terrible fuel consumption. Change the cap & rotor, Change the plugs (NGK or Denso copper plugs). Change all of your vagina split charge piping...

AFA why your mileage is complete ****, I think you've got a stuck injector. Change them. Would *probably* be a good idea to go ahead & check your compression too...

Well, I do want to replace the injectors, does anyone know what cc rating they are? I have looked around and can't find anything. As for the charge piping, it will be getting a front mount when I switch turbos.
