i know this site is primarily used for imports, but what kinda turbo would be good to put on my 4x4 2001 GMC Jimmy 4.3 vortec? id like to get a used one, and then make my own setup to make it work, but im just worried about what turbo to use.

any turbo would work on your 4.3 ltr. I would consider a T-3 something small, doesnt like alot of RPM's. builds boost at low RPM's simply because most of here run high rpm vehicles, anywhere between 5-9000 RPM's.

setting a turbo up on your truck, the hardest part would be getting the turbo mounted.
Im not trying to turn you away from this site, but check here, they might have a manifold you could use. then peice the turbo together, rather than a "kit" type turbo.
something else i would ask them is fuel management. how do they get this done. check them out.

hey thanks alot man, yeah my truck dosnt even go over 5000 rpms most of the time, so i would want a low rpm one. yeah im not worried about the making it fit thing i can take care of all of that

You might wanna check and see if the bolt pattern is the same as a 4.3 syclone or typhoon - you may be able to find a manifold off one of them in a junkyard.. i believe they were 4.3 turbo

 

That would be a perfect donor for the intercooler,pipes and stuff too......good one
