I've seen some turbo manufacturers recommend not going over a certain psi. If your turbo's seals are questionable. Or if your drain line sucks ***.


In any of these instances, you will probably have smoke. Restrictor valve= smoke killa. choke the turbo of oil except the bare neccessity that it needs. The HMT way.

This just in:


MJM turbo's recommends a -3 with a restrictor, with a big drain line, with a used oil pump, with very little, but not no oil going to the turbo.


A.K.A. THEY SELL GARBAGE.

haha, it seems this -3/-4 rumor mill just gets worse when manufacturers blame shotty turbo's on it.

FWIW, most mitsubishi turbos have restrictors in the CRHA to make sure the turbo doesn't get any more oil than it needs.
