I've seen some turbo manufacturers recommend not going over a certain psi. If your turbo's seals are questionable. Or if your drain line sucks ***.
In any of these instances, you will probably have smoke. Restrictor valve= smoke killa. choke the turbo of oil except the bare neccessity that it needs. The HMT way.

This just in:
MJM turbo's recommends a -3 with a restrictor, with a big drain line, with a used oil pump, with very little, but not no oil going to the turbo.

haha, it seems this -3/-4 rumor mill just gets worse when manufacturers blame shotty turbo's on it.
