hello guys newbie here. i have a question about this turbo. i went to the junkyard today just to see what they had in the for of turbos. well they had a turbo off a 84 300 zx for $100, there is no shaft play but it only spin when i turn it.Can i put this on a b18b? i have done the searches and i cant seem to find any info on this turbo. does anyone have know where i can find the a/r for this turbo? any help would be great;y appreciated.

 

I think there were a couple different turbos used on the old school 300's. I have one as well but I have no idea what year car it was removed from. Supposedly some of them are .60 compressor and .63 turbine.

 

I thought most of them came with 2 t25's. I would think a t25 would be too small for you motor

 

i am going to be using a TD04 which was taken from a 1g dsm eclipse, i know it is too small...but those things can output a lot and can be boosted to a high level. also because the trim is so small...the spool would be like 1500rpms for us b18b owners.

 

only the twin turbo 300s' came with t25s. i have a 60 trim t3 on my b16 from a 86' 300zx and it's awsome. power builds all the way till redline. full boost (11psi) in 2nd gear at 4800rpm. the stock waste gate is set at 6.5psi. you should hit full boost on a b18 with that turbo by 3800rpm. but it'll only be efficient til about 300hp. mines puttin down 246 at the wheels running safely rich at 11psi.

 

thanks for the help guys. im not planning on pushing alot of boost right now because my car is stock. i just want a lil extra power for the time being, til i can rebuild engine. and i just found a junkyard that has one from a 85-86 t-bird. which one is better for a b18b?

 

i had a t3 off of a j-spec 300zx motor. it was like an 87 or something like that my homie gave it to me...worked good...pulled all the way to 7500 on my z6

 

No most of the came with the garrett t2 .48/.60 trim they are a basic t3 but spools up faster go for a t-3 setup should be good on the b-series
