Sweet setup! Looks good. Dont get a turbo that's too small either. When the power dies off up top, you're going to hate it. Also, why not a FMIC instead of the side mount?

There was also a guy on HT.com who put a duck caller on his BOV. He's got a vid of it to. It sounds pretty damn funny :)

Well, the turbo is small but it's still above 60% efficiency on the turbo so it won't be too horrible at 8psi. I could turn up boost to make it more fun and fit in the graph better but hey, my car culdn't handle that. :P

why not FMIC? :P maybe the cost? $45 shipped for a sidemount compared to $2-300 for front mount...

I got my starion off the DSM trader for $100 shipped... FM starion IC sounds better than a side mount DSM one...

Again its not the compressor that I think is too small on the wrx turbo, its the exhuast side, its too restrictive... I've seen 15+ psi on my 1.6L, so i'm sure it can make 7-8psi on your 2.4L, its the fact that the turbine/exhuast side is on the small side for my 1.6L..

I understand that funds is an issue and all, look at my set-up, its no perfect deal, just letting you know....

Anyone know of a direct replacement to the WRX exhuast housing that is bigger ???

Hmm...if it's too small for your 1.6L, how could a 2.0 WRX possibly use such a small exhaust opening? It IS small but I figured if a WRX can flow fine through it, my 2.4 might not be best but should still work. :-\ i guess we'll see.

It's not a matter of how fast it is...it's a matter of having fun ;)

Also, JCwhitney is good for IC piping.

9/10 factory turbo cars have torque in mind, not peak power and racing...

Ask any GS-T owner if a T-25 is "good enough" for a 2.0L DOHC... The T-25 is about the same size as the TD04L ( maybe a bit bigger, maybe a bit smaller, I have both but its hard tell with one on my car... )

Ask any stealth/3000gt VR4 owner if a TD04 on a 1.5L kicks ass... He'll laugh and say " are you kinding me ?"... ( twin turbo, one TD04 per 1.5L ).

Any 2.0L automatic GS-Ts singing the graces of the TD04-13 ?? Hell no...

I'm not saying it wouldn't work ( it will be a fun mofo for driving eveyday, but your going to get tired of lossing so much power "uptop"...

A GI-NORMUS exhuast may help, but its just like sticking a tampond in the hole in the boat, its not "idea", but it will work.

BTW I've been told that the KA properly built can be about as good as an SR20 ( but that's a totally different thread ).

It'll be a good "drifting" turbo for sure !!!

( 2.4L neon SRT comes with a TD05H-big-16G ) The evo8 = TD05H-big-16G, and WRX STi = VF 4987346592zkgvhkha or something like that...

all 3 engines have a MUCH MUCH LARGER turbo on "factory cars" that are very "torque minded"...

Sorry if I'm making you second guess it, but it WILL WORK and your car is going to be light-years faster, its just not "idea"...

89dxhunchback> no no, i totally understand what you're saying. I didn't mean to diss your advice in any way neither. I appreciate all the input.

Out of curiosity though, what kind of 'top end' do you ahve in mind? I believe the KA engine's power peak is around 5600rpm so it's not really a high reving engine anyway.

But yes, I know it'll be fun and as embarrasing as it is to admit, more than power, I just can't wait to hear the BOV sound. :P PSHHHHHHHHHHHH
